The Chickasha Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously on April 13 to hire Seth Meier as the school district’s new Executive Director of Curriculum and Personnel.
“I’m extremely excited to serve alongside an outstanding Board, leadership team, and instructional staff. CPS is destined for greatness, because of the community that we serve,” Meier said.
Meier is currently serving the Moore Public Schools community as a K-6 elementary principal. Prior to serving in Moore, he was an assistant middle school principal with Mid-Del Schools, where he also supervised the district’s middle school special needs alternative program. Meier also taught high school special education and mathematics with Mid-Del Schools. He previously served Norman Public Schools as a high school special education teacher and elementary school teacher assistant. Meier holds a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and a B.S. in Special Education from the University of Oklahoma. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational administration, curriculum and supervision from the University of Oklahoma.
Having experience at all three levels of PK-12 uniquely positions Meier to provide instructional support with vertical curriculum planning, while providing focused instructional coaching for staff professional development. He believes in crafting a culture where all staff are respected and valued, while collaborating with them for professional growth opportunities.
Meier believes in leading through transparency, optimism, and servant-leadership. Meier stated, “My passion is creating environments where positive relationships are fostered, children flourish through authentic learning experiences, the community is engaged through a collective responsibility, and teachers grow through instructional risk-taking”.
Meier will officially begin the position this summer. When he’s not working, he loves laughing and making memories with his wife, Kristi, and their children, Thea and Coen.
